Herbal Apothecary

As many people will know our move from Leicestershire to North Yorkshire has been difficult but ultimately rewarding representing something of a difficult rebirth for The Herbal Apothecary. As you will see from the results of our practitioner survey there have been many problems, the majority of which have been largely overcome.

Most of life is two steps forward and one step back but we are at least now going forward. As you will see when you read our newsletter we have built both a strong committed team of people working hard to not just get it right but improve and develop what we do. We have also nearly completed our GMP facility and should be fully installed in the new unit at Whitby in the North York Moors National Park, before Christmas.

We would be very happy to open our doors to visitors – particularly student groups and new practitioners, to show you how a modern herbal medicine manufacturer does it. They do nice chips in Whitby too!

Over the last 18 months we have built a strong group of partner suppliers and companies who we can trust and rely on to deliver the quality raw materials we need. Added to this we are bringing in - house again under our own control important aspects of production e.g. Cream making which we had been forced to outsource prior to completion of our new facility.

We are delighted to be back in business, and are truly grateful to all those who have stuck with us and helped us along the way.

HERITAGE

The Herbal Apothecary has been in existence for over 25 years. Its founders were part of a renaissance that saw a significant growth in the training of medical herbalists and the re-emergence of herbal medicine in the public imagination. It has been through many changes in that time, and has emerged as a modern, research-led herbal medicine manufacturing facility. We are fully GMP compliant and believe that we stock the largest range of herbal medicine products in the UK.
