The herbal pharmacy prescription service

works like this: Firstly you need to register with us and let us have copies of your professional qualifications, up to date professional indemnity insurance, and details of membership of professional bodies. This scheme is currently only open to qualified medical herbalists, who have achieved at least Bsc degree standard in herbal medicine, or equivalent (including the diploma from the School of Phytotherapy) and who are deemed qualified and fit to practice.

You can phone through prescriptions to us on 01947 896009, but we will need written confirmation giving full details of the prescription, by email or post, before we will send it out to your patient.

You must provide us with the following information:

For all herbal prescriptions you must give the full botanical name for each herb, weekly quantity and daily dosage.

Full name, and address of your patient.

Liquid prescriptions can be dispensed into 100ml, 200ml, 500ml and 1000ml plastic bottles.

Dried herbs can be dispensed separately or mixed into 100g quantities or multiples thereof.

Standard charges for the prescription service are as follows:

Liquid preparations £3 per 100ml

Dried herbs £3.00 per 100g

Charges may vary if, for example, your prescription contains some of the more expensive herbs such as Hydrastis.

You will be charged for the prescription plus carriage on receipt of order. Prescriptions may be sent to you, or directly to your patient, whichever you specify.
